Our friendly small animal reception team consists of Cindy Groenig, Glenys Nicholson, Jaine Trethowan, Edwina Andrew and Helen
Jenkin. Cindy and Glenys have achieved the BTEC Intermediate Award in Veterinary Practice Client Care. Jaine is at present studying
for this qualification.
As well as making appointments for clients, they are trained to give advice and information about the practice
services and also about products that are sold, such as wormers and flea products. If client queries are on more specific medical
matters, they will liaise closely with the Vets and Nurses to provide the relevant information. Our receptionists also take orders
for repeat prescriptions for ongoing medications. In order that our Vets can process these requests efficiently and carefully, we
ask clients that whenever possible they give us at least 24 hours notice for us to get their tablets or medicines ready.
Mrs Carna Fabbro is our very popular Large Animal Receptionist. She has worked for the practice for over 55 years and is well known
to most of the farming families in the area. Mrs Fabbro views all our longstanding farm and equine clients (and their families) as
her friends and will always do her utmost to help them with their queries and requests. She has seen many changes during her time
at the practice, but has always risen to these challenges and aquainted herself with new skills when they have been required. Retirement
is a word, that we dare not mention in her presence! Edwina Andrew often stands in for Mrs Fabbro in her absence and coming from
a farming background herself has quickly developed a very good rapport with our farming clients.
Angela Pollard and Nicky Fox comprise our Accounts Office team. Angela started work in the practice as a receptionist in 1996. In 2003, she took on the important role of the practice drug ordering and stock taking. She is also in charge of sending out the small animal accounts and vaccine reminders.
Nicky is in charge of the practice banking, wages, tax calculations and book keeping. She also prepares and sends out the farm and equine accounts every month. She has worked in this role since 1997. When Nicky Fox is away, Edwina Andrew does the banking. When Angela is away, Jaine Trethowan does the stocktake and drug ordering.
