Johnny Alston grew up on a farm in Wiltshire and qualified from Liverpool University in 1981. After initially working for the PDSA, he then worked in several mixed practices in Yorkshire and Wiltshire, before coming to Cornwall in 1992. Although now spending much of his time doing farm and equine work, he still enjoys small animal consulting and surgery (especially orthopaedics). On the farm side, he is particularly interested in routine fertility work and mastitis control.

Hertfordshire) and qualified from London University in 1983. After qualifying, she worked in practices in Oxfordshire and the West Midlands, before coming to this practice in 1988. Susanna works part time in the practice and deals solely with small animals. Having a particular interest in using therapeutic dietary manipulation (such as prescription diets), she has run successful pet weight watcher clinics for a number of years. She also has particular interests in geriatric and internal medicine and is studying for her dermatology certificate.

Hazel Cooper qualified from the RVC, London in 1989 and worked at mixed and small animal practices in Yorkshire, Cumbria, the Midlands and Cornwall before joining us at Head and Head in 2003. Hazel works part time and does solely small animal work at the practice. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and her particular interests include dentistry, dealing with rabbits (and other "small furries") and using homoeopathy to complement her conventional treatments. She has the and has recently achieved full membership of the faculty of Homoeopathy.

Jenny Hope grew up in Worcestershire and after first obtaining a Biochemistry degree from Sussex University in 1999, qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Liverpool University in 2003. Jenny enjoys all aspects of general mixed practice. She particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery and challenging medical cases - both small and large animal.

Jenny enjoys large animal obstetrics and particularly enjoys performing bovine caesarians.

David Kitchen is a farmers son. He was born in Cornwall and lived here until the age of 12, when he moved abroad with his family. He then lived initially in Spain, before moving to the USA, where he obtained a BSc in Biochemistry from High Point University, North Carolina in 1991. In 1997 he qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Edinburgh University. He has worked in mixed and large animal practices in Cornwall since then, joining us at Head and Head in March 2005. He spends most of his time doing farm and equine work, but still enjoys his small animal consulting sessions, especially when dealing with cardiology cases. David has a small farm with suckler cows. When farming allows, he enjoys travelling abroad!

Naomi Watt joined us in September. Coming originally from Lancashire she qualified from the RVC London and is settling in well to the practice. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary mixed practice and is gradually getting used to finding her way around the Cornish Country lanes!
