The small animal department, has a team of dedicated Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses,

Pet Insurance: As we are not agents for any one company, we cannot recommend any particular company. However, we do advise pet owners
to take out pet insurance and to read the small print carefully, to make sure that their expectations are matched by what the company
has to offer.
Emergencies such as road traffic accidents, are always totally unexpected and can run up bills of several hundred pounds if orthopaedic surgical work is needed. Also, ongoing and difficult medical cases (especially, but certainly not exclusively in older pets) can run up large bills, especially if regular medications and expensive external lab fees are involved.
Out of Hours: We provide our own 24 hour emergency service for our clients.
We use a veterinary phone deputising service (based at Truro), to take our out of hours calls.
The person answering the phone, will immediately contact the Head and Head duty Veterinary Surgeon, who will then phone you back and make arrangements to see your pet at our practice in Helston. We don't share duties with other practices (you will always be seen by one of the practices' usual Vets) and you won't have to travel anywhere else to be seen. Of course if you are housebound, we can do a house call, but in most cases it's better to be seen at the practice - in order to make use of the facilities there.
